Job DescriptionJob Description

Remote - Entry level medical coding position for CPC-A® or CPC®

Must live in the EST or CST zone.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Review medical records and assign the appropriate and accurate ICD-10-CM diagnoses, CPT® codes and modifiers.

· Maintain Coding Department workflow at the expected minimum accuracy rate of 95%.

· Maintain the expected productivity level.

· Comply with Coding Department policies.

· Comply with all company policies and procedures.

· Maintain continuing educational criteria to retain coding certification. Coding certification is the responsibility of the coder, Verification of certification and credentialing are required.

· Knowledge of the current ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

· Knowledge of the 2024 Documentation Guidelines for E/M services.

· Abide by the HIPAA Security Rules and all other Information Security Policies.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Education/Experience

· Must be authorized to work in the United States

· High School Diploma or GED

· CPC-A® or CPC® certification

· 1-2 years of E/M coding experience preferred.

· Knowledge of medical terminology.

· Must be able to sit and read text on a computer for long periods of time.

· Conscientious, organized with good skills.

· Ability to work with minimum supervision and prioritize daily assignments.

· Maintain an approved work schedule and punctuality.

Computer Skills and Home Office REQUIREMENTS

· A separate and secure location/office within your home

· A separate work desktop or laptop

· Dual monitors

· High speed or fiber optic internet connection. Satellite internet service is not permitted.

· Microsoft Office Suite, basic knowledge of Excel

· Proficient with 10-key number pad

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Language: fluent English (Required)
