Position: Apprentice Electrician

Level: E2 - E5

Role Overview:

As an Apprentice Electrician, you'll work under the guidance of both a Journeyman and a Master Electrician. Your role will involve a range of tasks, including:

  • Installing, altering, and repairing electrical systems on commercial work sites.
  • Handling conductors and associated materials.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Duties & Responsibilities will differ according to "E" Rating.
  • Assisting in securing, relocating, and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment.
  • Keeping the work area clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
  • Assisting in pulling wire, lifting, hoisting, and positioning materials.
  • Operating less complicated hand tools and equipment under direct supervision.
  • Participating in tasks such as digging trenches and mounting and strapping.
  • Assisting in less complicated electrical installations under close supervision.
  • Performing other project-related duties and assignments as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Meeting attendance standards and complying with late/absence notification procedures.
  • Not working on energized circuits or equipment.

General Requirements:

  • Active TDLR Electrical Apprentice Card
  • Current Driver’s License and/or State ID
  • Basic hand tools of the trade
  • High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 7 months of Electrical Experience

Additional Information:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and manual skills
  • Availability for occasional overtime as required
  • State Driver’s License or State Identification Card
  • Completion of pre-employment checks including physical, background check, and drug screening

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a client project environment with exposure to employees, subcontractors, and trades.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular talking or hearing
  • Frequent standing, walking, and reaching
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
  • Ability to comprehend forms in space and understand relationships between plane and solid objects
  • Ability to manipulate materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to move up or mount using hands or feet (e.g., ladders, stairways)
  • Ability to bend forward or down, lower oneself, or move freely on hands and knees multiple times daily
  • Ability to stretch out, extend, or put forth a bodily part, touch, lift, hold, or operate with the hands
  • Good vision is required, including focus, color perception, and depth perception
  • Ability to operate or convey in a vehicle, car, commercial vehicle
