We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have diesel and gasoline mechanical aptitude within the construction industry and be able to function independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical duties from written and verbal instructions within the scope of the department
• Perform comprehensive motor, equipment or vehicle inspections of diesel engines
• Complete preventive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
• Communicate effectively with management and the fleet department regarding the status of repairs
• Commercial driver license is desired but not required

• Minimum of four years of recent and relevant diesel mechanic experience
• A valid driver license with an insurable driving record. (An insurable driving record is defined as no more than two points on a valid driving record)
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and a motor vehicle background check
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills
