Job DescriptionJob Description

Christian Concern Communities is seeking a part-time Van Driver to assist our Residents with shopping, Medial appointments and outings. The Driver makes his/her schedule and works a minimum of 10 hours per week with a maximum of 30 hours per week. you will drive for and escort residents from Amity Manor in Douglassville; Jefferson Apartments in Norristown,; and Upper Perkiomen Manor in Red Hill. The Van can be based at our home office in Douglassville or at the Norristown property.

Duties include operating and maintaining transportation vehicle with a focus on safety and resident courtesy and satisfaction; performing regular pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required, fueling the vehicles; ensuring that periodic scheduled maintenance is completed and reported as directed; documenting resident usage; preparing accident and incident reports as required; assisting passengers in and out of the vehicle as needed and providing safety instructions to residents as needed. With safety as the top priority, the operation and maintenance of the vehicles is critical to this position

  • Essential Dutiies:
    • Provide reliable, predictable transportation services to the residents
    • Operates assigned vehicles in a safe, law compliant manner
    • Coordinates the transportation schedule that includes receiving and confirming appointments with residents and pick up times.
    • Presents safety instructions to residents prior to departure as needed.
    • Assists residents in and out of the vehicle as needed, operates ramps, lifts and securement devices as required.

· Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the safest and most efficient route for traveling.

· Fuels the assigned vehicles and maintains a half tank of gas at all times.

· Maintains accurate and complete transportation records, inspection and mileage forms, incident and accident report forms, bi-weekly employee time cards and any records that are required by Christian Concern Communities.

· Maintains clean and safe vehicles at all times.

· Maintains confidentiality of all resident and employee information at all times.

· Serves as a positive role model while providing outstanding transportation service.

 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

Follow the established rules and regulations set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Required at time of hire are; a current and valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, clean criminal record, no Type A violations in the last (3) three years and a high school diploma or G.E.D. (Type A violations are defined in the Christian Concern’s Fleet Safety Policy.) First Aid and CPR training and certification are preferred but not required, and a CDL is not required. Must submit to and pass any pre-employment drug screening and drug screening requests at any time during employment. Continued employment is determined by the compliance with the requirements set forth in the job description, Fleet Safety Policy and Christian Concern Personnel Handbook.
