Simple & Just is a non-profit fashion retail boutique. We operate with a small paid staff and a team of volunteers. Our profits benefit commercially exploited people in the Pacific Northwest. We are located on Historic Ballard Avenue. Our mission is to inspire women to purchase smarter, and to pass-along quality clothing and accessories that no longer suit their needs, but still have life. In this way,
we help eliminate waste in the fast-fashion clothing chain. The ideal candidate for this job, is confident, independent, and loves fashion. We are first a fashion business. We serve our mission by selling more.

As we continue to grow our team, we want candidates to know that we are serious
about our commitment to hiring BIPOC team members. Simple & Just, one of the fastest growing resale shops in the region, has a female-led board and operated.

Responsibilities:
• Maximize sales and provide friendly, welcoming customer service.
• Communicate effectively with customers to determine their needs.
• Build relationships with clients by developing repeat customers and promote/grow our donor-based inventory model.
• Encourage individual small dollar donors.
• Drive sales through donations and partnerships with other small boutiques.
• Handle all point-of-sale transactions including sales and gift cards.
• Take an active role in all store operations such as maintaining displays,
assisting with processing new donations, and price reductions.
• Plan and create revenue driving in-store events.
• Encourage customers to sign up for our Five-Stars loyalty program and to engage with us on our social media platforms.
• Engage customers about Google Reviews.
• Communicate effectively through sharing feedback with the Board and writing daily business recaps.
• Secure company assets through good guidance loss prevention measures in compliance with company training.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in fashion retail sales; women’s contemporary and/or luxury designers, a plus.
• Welcoming collaborative nature with a growth mindset.
• Willingness and availability to work during peak business periods -
weekends, holidays, etc.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with POS, MailChimp and Google Docs.
• Comfortable working in a team environment.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy objects (20 pounds or more) from time to time as required.
