Job Overview: As an Adolescent Addiction Nurse at The Maxwell Academy, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to individuals struggling with substance abuse. Working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of effective treatment plans, oversee the infirmary and lead the withdrawal process for incoming individuals.

Essential Functions:

• Regularly assess and monitor patients for signs of withdrawal, mental health concerns, and overall well-being.

• Administer and monitor medications as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage and adherence to treatment protocols.

• In conjunction with our other medical professionals, provide information/education to patients and their families about addiction, recovery, and coping strategies.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting all interventions, assessments, and communications.

• Work collaboratively with our psychiatrist, counselors and teachers to ensure holistic and integrated care.

• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment adjustments, and overall program improvements.

Qualifications for the Position:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license and addiction certification preferred.

• At least 2 years experience in addiction treatment is required.

• Strong understanding of adolescent development and the unique challenges of addiction in this population.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Licenses: Valid RN Licensure

Company DescriptionThe Maxwell Academy is a new construction, custom built, campus style adolescent chemical dependency rehabilitation facility. Located on 18 acres in the city of Magnolia, Texas, The Maxwell Academy will provide 90-day residential treatment for a maximum capacity of 32 teen boys with drug and alcohol addiction.
