Employment type: Contract

Salary: $1,800 to $2,000 per semi-monthly pay period, based on experience
 

Job description: Director of Non-profit Operations

The mission of Destiny’s Daughters of Promise is to prepare youth, with an emphasis on teen girls, to thrive in their purpose, lead with confidence, and excel in the workforce. We currently offer out of school time programs and activities, academic enrichment, and community engagement opportunities for students.

We are seeking an engaging, enthusiastic, and highly professional individual to provide general oversight of day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will know how to lead programs, oversee resources, collaborate with other community organizations, and provide leadership and supervision to program staff and volunteers. Must be exceptionally well organized.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Program Management:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and implement the organization's strategic plans and objectives. This includes setting annual goals, creating action plans, and monitoring progress.
  • Oversee all aspects of program implementation, including curriculum, scheduling, coordination, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure that programs are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budgetary constraints. In addition, be aware of all legal or reporting requirements that the organization may have in executing their programs.

Program Evaluation and Impact Assessment:

  • Implement program evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness and impact of various programs.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify areas for program improvement and innovation.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Board of Directors to highlight program achievements and challenges.

Operations Management:

  • Identifying potential risks to the organization's operations and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate them.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for organizational improvement, streamlining processes, and implementing best practices to enhance overall effectiveness and impact.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant state laws, regulations, and grant guidelines that pertain to the organization's operations and programs.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required by funding agencies, government entities, or other stakeholders.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Implement budgets and oversee financial strategy.
  • Assist with developing program budgets and ensure effective allocation of resources, to include ensuring that the accounting department delivers timely and accurate financial statements for the board of directors.
  • Monitor program expenses and revenues, identifying opportunities for cost efficiency and sustainability.
  • Assist with grant writing and fundraising needs.

Networking and Community Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community partners, and other stakeholders to support program implementation and growth.
  • Collaborate with external organizations and individuals to expand the reach and impact of programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Non-profit Management, Business Administration, Education, Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience (at least 3 years) in a leadership role, management, preferably in a non-profit setting and at least 2 years’ experience working with youth in a school or community-based program.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and youth.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving program goals and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and people skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for and a commitment to empower youth to prepare for college, career, and future success.

·       Must be an initiative-taker with the ability to work without a lot of oversight.

Essential information about this position:

  • Your work schedule will be approximately 20 hours per week for a flat rate of pay (semi-monthly of $1800 to $2000) based upon experience.
  • This is a hybrid position. You will work virtually and on-site for various on-site activities as needed. On-site activities will be for approximately two - three hours per month (unless there is an event or conference).
