Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Import Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and management of import/export activities. This includes the development and implementation of import/export policies and procedures, as well as the management of import/export documentation and shipment, as well as the coordination with customs and carriers to ensure efficient transit of goods.
Position Responsibilities
1. Coordinate the importation of goods and prepare internal documentation to facilitate receipt of parts.
2. Communicate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and carriers to coordinate shipment schedules and ensure timely delivery of goods.
3. Coordination with customs brokers to ensure compliance with import regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements, including classification, valuation, and duty payment.
4. Liaise with customs brokers and government agencies to facilitate the clearance of imported goods, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with import regulations.
5. Monitor import shipments and track their progress through customs clearance and delivery to the destination, keeping management informed of any delays or issues.
6. Coordinate with internal teams, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution, to ensure timely receipt and availability of imported goods.
7. Maintain accurate records of import transactions, including documentation, duty payments, and compliance records.
8. Assist in the resolution of import-related disputes, discrepancies, or claims, working closely with vendors, carriers, and other stakeholders to reach satisfactory resolutions.
9. Stay informed about changes in import regulations, trade policies, and customs procedures, and communicate relevant updates to internal teams and stakeholders.
Position Education and Skills Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Work Experience:1- 2 years in import logistics.
Required / Preferred Skills:
•Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and government agencies.
•Attention to detail and accuracy in completing import documentation and compliance records.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
