Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Information Technology Technician to join our team at Brown Packing. This role is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of our systems within a meat packing plant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, critical thinking skills, and a basic understanding of networking and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide desktop support to office staff, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Work on computers, systems, and related IT equipment in a meat packing plant environment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with scales, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Assist the IT Team in resolving internet connectivity issues and other network-related problems.
  • Collaborate with the IT Team on various projects to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT equipment.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Document and report on system performance, issues, and resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience in an IT support or technician role.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles and IT systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable, with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a similar environment (e.g., industrial, manufacturing, or plant settings) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a meat packing plant environment, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • An Associate’s degree in IT, Networking, or a related field is a plus.
