Lightning Bay PneuDraulics is a well-established Industrial, Marine and Mining Maintenance, service company, Specializing in Hydraulics. We have an immediate career opening for a Safety and Training Manager The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience in this role and an impressive management background. This is an important role, and you will be required to work full time in the office with our outstanding staff. Experience in Industrial service, manufacturing, or heavy marine is a plus.

Required Education & Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience required

·         10+ years of experience in progressively responsible Safety/Training position

·         10+ years of experience Similar industries

·         10+ years of experience in a supervisory role

·         CSM certification preferred

Responsibilities

·         Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines

·         Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety

·         Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law

·         Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention

·         Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations

·         Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions

·         Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims

·         Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures

·         Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics

·         Create Training programs for equipment and machines

·         Manage ISNet and other required company safety reporting systems

·         Create training requirements for all new hires

·         Create refresher training requirements for tenured employees

 

Requirements and skills

·         Proven experience as safety manager

·         Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines

·         Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies

·         Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment

·         Excellent organizational and motivational skills

·         Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability

·         Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

·         BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred

·         Valid qualification in occupational health and safety

·         Valid Drivers Florida Drivers License to inspect and visit job sites
