As a Construction Site Work Estimator specializing in 8(a) government contracts, you will play a crucial role in our project development and bidding process. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Estimation and Cost Analysis:
    • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, focusing on site work elements.
    • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify project requirements and constraints.
    • Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to ensure precise estimates.
  • 8(a) Program Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with 8(a) program requirements and regulations in the estimation process.
    • Familiarity with Small Business Administration (SBA) guidelines for 8(a) contracting.
  • Bid Proposal Preparation:
    • Collaborate with the project management and business development teams to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
    • Prepare detailed take-offs, cost breakdowns, and other documentation required for bid submission.
  • Communication and Coordination:
    • Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and accuracy in project scopes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, with a focus on 8(a) government contracts.
  • Knowledge of 8(a) program regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating.

Working Hours

  • Monday through Friday; 8am -5:00pm
  • Early start or longer days as necessary to complete the bid accurately.

Experience Requirements

  • 4 + year’s experience required on construction projects.
  • Bid2Win Software Experience is a Plus.
  • AGTEK Software Experience is a Plus.
  • Plan Swift Software Experience is a Plus.
