Certified Lifeguards

We are looking for responsible, energetic individuals who are seeking flexible hours in a fun, fast paced environment. Lifeguarding requires professional and dependable individuals. If you are enthusiastic, love people and the water - this could be the perfect place for you.

Must be able to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Able to create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with Carmel Swim Academy policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs as a leader and role model for other staff members and patrons.
  • Shows up for work in the correct uniform on time and ready to work.
  • Knows and practices all emergency procedures and responds accordingly, which includes attending all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff.
  • Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the aquatic area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard or Equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
  • Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with ARC standards.

SCHEDULING

  • Schedules are done on a monthly basis.
  • Availabilities are given for each month. Lifeguards are responsible for turning in their availability on time in order to be put on the schedule.
  • Shifts are 3-4 hours long.
  • Some of our most needed times are during the week 2pm-5pm and on the weekends between 9am-3pm.

PAY RANGE (all individuals will have opportunities to level up)

  • Level 1: $12
  • Individuals with no experience working as a lifeguard
  • Level 2: $13-$15
  • Individuals with experience working as a lifeguard at an Aquatics Facility
  • Level 3: $15-$18
  • Individuals who are 18 or older and have one or more of the following
  • Worked as a lifeguard for 2 or more years
  • Will work the early morning AM shifts
  • Wanting to work 20 hours or more a week

*Must show proof of certification before scheduling an interview.
