Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Life Enrichment Specialist is responsible for the delivery of programming designed to
meet and honor the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of residents based upon their
individual needs and interests.

Qualifications/Overview:
  • High school graduate with some college course work in therapeutic recreation or gerontology preferred;
  • Prior experience in recreation a plus; preferably in a geriatric setting;
  • Excellent English communication skills both oral and written;
  • Knowledge in aging process, dementia training a plus;
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of social events for traditional assisted living and special care residence;
  • Empowers residents to develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively and develop a sense of pride in their accomplishments;
  • Conduct meaningful activities and opportunities of engagement as outlined in the program calendar;
  • Provide engaging activities for those residents who spend time in their rooms;
  • Assist the Life Enrichment Coordinator with preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of each resident;
  • Maintains supplies in an orderly manner and notifies supervisor of supply needs in a timely manner;
  • Maintains and posts daily and monthly calendars of events, outings and other recreational opportunities as required;
  • Other duties as assigned
