POSITION: Licensed Practical Nurse

LOCATION: Lakewood, WA (Inpatient Psychiatric)

 

SHIFTS:         

         6:30am - 3pm days off T/W

         2:30pm - 11pm Swing shift, days off W/T

         2:30 pm - 11pm Swing shift, days off T/W

 

COMP:         $30.00 - $40.00 per hour +  $2.50 per hour for working evening and night shift.

·     5% for all direct care positions for working at a 24/7 staffed facility.

 

OVERVIEW

The Licensed Practical Nurse will assist with the rehabilitation of patients and residents according to treatments plans. They will care for patients/residents with communicable diseases including necessary sterilization and observation of aseptic techniques   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Observe, record, and report the general condition of patients/residents   

·       Attend to the general care of patients and residents, provide emotional and physical comfort and safety, and maintain a comfortable environment.

·       Participate in education programs and treatment team conferences

·       Promote a better understanding of hospital policies      

·       Participate in providing a therapeutic environment through acceptance of patients and residents behavior, and guidance toward more rational behavior   

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

·       Proven ability to discern and apply practical nursing principles and concepts   

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills   

·       Demonstrated ability to perform and interpret basic physical and treatment techniques   

·       Detail-oriented reporting and ability to relay clear, accurate information  

 

REQUIRED

·       Valid Washington State license to practice as a PN or the ability to obtain a valid Washington State license by the start of employment

·       CPR certified - preferred
