We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Kitchen Appliances and Refrigeration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial kitchen equipment, including refrigeration systems, ovens, dishwashers, and other appliances used in the foodservice industry. This role requires a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to work in various commercial environments such as restaurants, hotels, and catering services.
*Key Responsibilities:*
1. *Installation & Setup:*
- Install and set up commercial kitchen appliances, refrigeration units, and related equipment according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Ensure all equipment is installed safely and is fully operational.
2. *Maintenance & Servicing:*
- Perform routine maintenance on commercial kitchen appliances and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Inspect equipment for wear and tear, and make adjustments or repairs as necessary.
3. *Troubleshooting & Repair:*
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems with kitchen appliances and refrigeration systems.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including motors, compressors, control boards, and other parts.
- Ensure repairs are done efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime for the client.
4. *Safety & Compliance:*
- Adhere to all safety regulations and standards when working on commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration systems.
- Ensure that all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and regulations, particularly those related to food safety and refrigeration.
5. *Customer Service:*
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients to explain issues, repair options, and the status of their equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring client satisfaction with all work performed.
6. *Documentation:*
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations performed.
- Complete service reports and other documentation required by the company or clients.
*Qualifications:*
- *Education & Certification:*
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field is preferred.
- EPA Certification (Section 608) for refrigerant handling is required.
- *Experience:*
- Proven experience as a commercial kitchen appliances technician or refrigeration technician, with a strong background in both areas.
- Experience working with a variety of commercial kitchen equipment brands and models.
- *Skills & Abilities:*
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment related to the repair and maintenance of commercial kitchen appliances and refrigeration systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
*Work Environment:*
- The position may require working in commercial kitchen environments, which can be hot, noisy, and fast-paced.
- The role may involve standing, kneeling, or working in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Travel to client sites is required, with the possibility of after-hours or weekend work depending on client needs.
*Compensation:*
- Competitive salary based on experience. $25-$35
