Position: Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) - Home Infusion Services

Location: California

About the Role: As the Pharmacist In Charge at our Home Infusion Pharmacy, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing pharmacy operations. This position involves direct supervision of compounding, quality assurance, dispensing, and clinical monitoring activities. You will ensure the delivery of exceptional clinical services related to both infusion and specialty pharmaceutical care.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management: Provide shift supervision for Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Interns, and Shipping and Delivery Personnel. Drive decisions on pharmaceutical services within your scope, including assessment of patient needs, care planning, and quality improvement.
• Clinical Expertise: Handle the receipt and evaluation of physician prescription orders for appropriateness related to dosage, drug interactions, and administration. Supervise all pharmacy activities, including compounding and dispensing. Ensure timely collaboration with nurses and physicians based on laboratory test results.
• Patient Care: Offer direct counseling and education to patients, monitor treatment responses, and manage adverse events. Document all interactions in patient charts comprehensively.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain essential documentation as mandated by state and federal standards. Ensure the safety of patients and staff by adhering to the highest standards of pharmacy practice.

Educational Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (PharmD or B.S.)
• Current pharmacy license and registration in the State of California

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in infusion pharmacy required.
• Proficiency in dosing and monitoring therapeutic IV antibiotics and TPN.
• Experience with WellSky CPR+/CareTend software.
• Extensive knowledge in managing infectious diseases, particularly in compounding IV infusions.

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide leadership and effectively supervise a diverse team.

Additional Requirements:

• Participates in an on-call schedule as needed.
• This position does not offer the option to work remotely.
