The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and effective coordination of all incoming receipts and merchandise at our company. This position will manage the receiving department and its staff, ensuring that all items are received stored, and distributed in an organized and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train receiving staff on first and second shift
  • Manage all receiving operations, including unloading and sorting of receipts
    • Improve upon existing FIFO/LIFO procedures and track improvement intact times
  • Ensure that all incoming receipts are accurately and promptly processed
    • Maintain and host Receiving Issues Log and Log Meeting
  • Monitor the accuracy of all receiving records in SAP along with creating and sharing KPI’s through dashboards
  • Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment
  • Identify and resolve receiving issues causing inventory discrepancies with purchasing departments
  • Monitor and control operational costs
  • Monitor and control overtime and temp expenses
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate operations
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize process
  • Cross functionally works with logistics and purchasing teams to establish EOQs for optimal lot sizing and scheduling of receipts
  • Assist and support remote facilities in Carol Stream, IL and Santa Anna, CA

Requirements and Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies in this position:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred
  • Relevant experience in receiving and inventory management
  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures and equipment
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Previous experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Experience scheduling deliveries
  • Self-Motivated
  • Self-Starter
  • Collaborative
  • Leadership abilities
