Being part of a start-up, you would provide leadership and guidance in implementing your department, reporting directly to executive management. Then throughout the building process onsite & remotely to ensure the successful delivery of all construction projects on time & on budget. Manage and facilitate vendors, contractors, construction schedules. Engagements with municipalities, stakeholders, HOA’s, homeowners & utility providers.  Supply local industry knowledge and execution of construction principles, policies & procedures to ensure complete compliance with any & all legal or industry requirements. Scale up the deployment ability nationally and strive for efficiencies. 

Responsibilities:

Permitting & Utilities Engagements

  • Schedule, engage and manage municipal locates to enable OSP constriction
  • Engage with utilities providers to achieve understanding on requirements, costs, process & timelines for shared services both UG & Aerial
  • Manage and facilitate the “make ready” process with the project management & engineering team
  • Municipality, Utility & state departmental engagements to gain an understanding on what construction limits are per town & permit requirements

Construction Management

  • Create & manage project schedules & reports
  • Manage project resources to ensure the project is delivered on time & on budget
  • Ensure construction compliance is always adhered to & the company is free of risk
  • Ensure health & safety regulations are being implemented and adhered by all project resources
  • Enforce & maintain construction standards & practices on behalf of the company to ensure complete compliance with state/ federal & client standards
  • Performance managing staff & contractors for non-performance related issues

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

  • Manage stakeholder & client relations.
  • Manage community engagement & escalations.
  • Draw up & collaborate on detailed reports & feedback to clients and stakeholders on project delivery, budgets, costs, issues, solutions, risks, mitigations & timelines

Vendor Management

  • Manage contractor relationships
  • Negotiate contractor rates & requirements
  • Source & On-board vendors, suppliers, contractors & Sub-contractors when required
  • Execute on contractor non-performance issues, mitigations, penalties & improvement strategies

​Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years fiber project management experience required
  • Telecommunications / utilities experience
  • Permitting, right of ways, encroachment for UG & aerial communications construction
  • Utility pole engagements & make ready experience
  • Knowledge of state construction laws & regulations
  • Knowledge of the construction health & safety regulations
  • experience managing projects & project resources
  • Experience managing contractors & suppliers
  • Contract & payment term negotiations
  • OSP & ISP civils construction experience
  • Experience engaging with local, private, public, or federal agencies when executing projects OSP
  • Proven history of managing staff & contractors

Beneficial Qualifications

  • Utilities construction experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Fiber tech related, PON, GPON, EPON
