Production Artist

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Creating artwork for approval per customer requests, while adhering to machine specifications and limitations
• Quickly and accurately creating vector art from samples
• Manipulating existing artwork (masks, bleeds, traps, gradients, separations, type setting, etc.)
• Preparing supplied files for plate making
• Font recognition
• Generating barcodes
• Output to large format printers
• Output to Digital Imaging Devices
• Prepping files for process printing

Ideal Candidates Will:

• Be hard working, self motivated, and eager to learn
• Be proficient using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for Mac
• Be pro level with the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator
• Be typographically sound
• Be familiar with the Flexo Printing Process
• Be able to work effectively in a fast paced, tight deadline oriented atmosphere
• Have a solid understanding of process printing

Additional Desired Qualities and Skills Include:

• Understanding of the press characterization and fingerprinting process in Flexography
• Knowledge with the use of measuring devices such as densitometers and spectrophotometers
• Experience with Esko Flex Rip (creating job tickets, press curves, work flows, separations, etc.)
• Experience utilizing PACKZ pre-press software
• Knowledge in color management using GMG software
