QC Cycle Counter

Overview:
The Quality Control/Cycle Counter checks the quality of all incoming manufactured, and outgoing material and products. This position will be a firm advocate of quality in our business. The ideal candidate should possess a keen eye for detail and should be reliable and committed. Ensuring our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
· Gathers drawings and applicable technical specifications
· Reviews and understand the specs
· Inspects all materials for compliance with the specifications
o Correct material for application
o Visual
o Dimensional
o Quantity
o Mock-up (as required for proof of functionality and accuracy)
· Documents inspection results on drawings (for accounting and reference)
· Maintains inspection records
· Identifies satisfactory material with “QC Accepted” and non-conforming material with “QC Rejected”
· Recognizes QA policies, procedures, and directives for development and compliance while providing feedback and follow up to ensure proper corrective action is achieved.

· Stages material in an orderly manner
· Focuses on continual growth of our Quality at the Source program, ensuring that the program is effective, and that all Team Members perform their own quality checks as well as collecting quality data.
· Maintains Quality Reporting.
· Maintains inspection tools and calibrated instruments
· Complete daily cycle counts
· Complete random quality checks on product being shipped
· Make adjustments to inventory after thorough investigation
· Verify material labeled as scrap is truly unusable
· Must drive a forklift to obtain product from racks
Experience and Skills:
· High degree of time management to handle multiple and concurrent tasks
· Ability to lead, interface, and work effectively with other departments
· Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
· Must be able to interact professionally at all levels of the organization
· Proficient in MS Office programs.
· Working knowledge of gauges, calipers, and tape measurements.
· Strong communication skills.
· Resilient self-starter, who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment.
· Aptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-through.
· Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
· Strong analytical skills for interpretation of data to effectively manage risk.
· Ability to prioritize and work with limited direct supervision.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent, with strong math skills
· Proven experience with metal fabrication
· Two years’ experience in Manufacturing facility
· 1 – 3 years of related experience in safety and training leadership roles.
· Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and/or Continuous Improvement training or certifications preferred.
· Experience with reading and interpreting CAD drawings/technical specifications.
Physical Requirements:
· Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time
· Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling
· Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
· Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels
· Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
· The worker is required to have close visual acuity
· Sitting for long periods of time
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs
· At times dusty due to the manufacturing aspect
