This employee runs and manages the laboratory on production days. They perform lab pre and post run cleaning. The tech performs basic inspection, cleaning, and preparation of equipment prior to and after production runs. The lab tech moves pasteurized fruiting blocks from pasteurization tanks on the production floor into the lab for processing. The technician works in a sterile environment under HEPA flow hoods and performs culture inoculations of fruiting blocks, or other media. The Technician introduces the correct amount of culture to each block, thermally seals each block, and applies identification labels to finished blocks. The lab tech may move finished blocks from the lab to various colonization racks / areas as necessary and file a product location report at end of each shift. Employee always maintains a clean and safe working environment.
