Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Class C Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and materials within our warehouse facility and to various local destinations, as well as downtown Chicago. As a crucial member of our logistics team, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of our warehouse operations. This is a temporary placement. 

 

Responsibilities:

· Safely operate and maneuver company vehicles, including vans and light trucks, within warehouse premises and on local/city routes.

· Load and unload goods and materials onto vehicles, ensuring proper handling and securement.

· Transport materials between warehouse locations, distribution centers, and customer sites in a timely manner.

· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.

· Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, delivery receipts, and vehicle inspection reports.

· Assist with general warehouse duties, such as organizing inventory, picking orders, and stocking shelves, as needed.

· Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as local traffic laws and regulations, at all times.

· Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns.

 

Requirements and Skills:

· Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.

· Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a delivery driver or warehouse associate.

· Experience driving in downtown Chicago is preferred.

· Familiarity with operating light trucks, vans, and other commercial vehicles.

· Knowledge of local roadways and routes, with the ability to navigate effectively using GPS or maps.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.

· Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy objects, as well as bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.

· Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

· Basic math skills for inventory management and record-keeping purposes.

· High school diploma or equivalent education required; additional certifications or training in logistics or driving may be advantageous.
