Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for a knowledgeable & dynamic Landscape Construction Project Manager to join our amazing team. The Project Manager will collaborate with clients, vendors, and department managers to supervise and construction on commercial and residential landscaping projects.

Qualified candidates will be able to manage budgets, landscaping plans, and training and supervise the installation team. We are looking for someone with in-depth experience in multi-zone commercial and residential irrigation systems. As well as someone who can use our digital tools to keep our projects running smoothly, optimizing every leaf, blade, and bloom.  A sense of humor and a positive attitude – a MUST  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Using budgets and landscape plans, design/build/lay-out multi-zone commercial and residential irrigation systems based upon meter size, pressure, and flow (GPM).
  • Supervise the installation of hardscape, retaining walls, landscape lighting, and plantings.
  • Hire, train, performance manage, and lead on-site construction crews of three to six people using our values of Respect, Integrity, Team, Customer Centric, Expertise, Agility, and Grit.
  • Schedule work and procure labor, subcontractors, and materials needed for project completion; update these requirements as projects move through their timelines.
  • Read and understand project contracts and all documents within a project file.
  • Read, interpret, and understand landscape plan drawings, specifications, and details.
  • Read and understand project details related to site safety and security, site office locations and layouts, and equipment and material staging and storage areas.
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager to prioritize and re-prioritize work based upon frequently changing customer demands.
  • Lead daily and weekly scheduled work and safety crew meetings using typed notes, guides, and attendance rosters.
  • Use Aspire workflow management system to account for crew time and labor for payroll and job costing purposes.
  • Use Aspire workflow management system to review projects’ budgeted versus actual job costs. Meet with finance and operations leaders to discuss invoicing and job costs trends and corrective actions.
  • Live PLM values of Respect, Integrity, Team, Customer Centric, Expertise, Agility, and Grit to establish and maintain positive working relationships with all the PLM team members, customers, vendors, and subcontractors involved in PLM projects.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years’ experience as a Project Manager / Superintendent in the landscape construction / irrigation installation industry.
  • Verifiable experience designing, building, and laying out multi-zone commercial and residential irrigation systems based upon landscape plans, budgets, meter sizes, pressures, and flows (GPM).
  • Function competently in an Office 365 environment using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Identify common pacific northwest plants and trees and their common diseases and pest infestations, water requirements, and pruning techniques.
  • Currently hold and maintain a valid WA state driver’s license and current insurance as well as ability to pass a background check.
  • Current First Aid/CPR card or ability to get one in 2 months after hire.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing using the English language. Bi-lingual English Spanish is a plus.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of all jobs.
  • Stand frequently for extended time periods.
  • Move about job sites with uneven surfaces, obstacles, slopes, stairs, and grades.
  • Demonstrate proper lift and carry techniques for heavy items.
  • Ability to recognize and identify terrain and construction activity both near and from a distance.
  • Demonstrate proper material handling and moving techniques using hands, arms, legs, shoulders, back, and torso, to position and install construction materials.
  • Work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use a computer, distinguish color and differentiate between products.
  • Work in inclement weather and hours that may extend beyond a 5/8 or 4/10 work schedule.
