This role involves efficiently coordinating and directing the movement of trucks and fuel products to ensure safe and timely deliveries. Utilizing a computerized dispatching system, the dispatcher will construct daily delivery routes to optimize customer satisfaction and operational profitability. We are seeking an individual who excels in a fast-paced environment, embraces adaptability, and possesses a competitive edge. The ideal candidate will exhibit proactive communication, contribute as a key team member, prioritize customer satisfaction, and consistently demonstrate professionalism and integrity.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate bulk fuel deliveries with customers and drivers.
- Enter customer orders and promptly respond to customer inquiries.
- Manage customer fuel inventories.
- Handle all incoming and outgoing dispatch communications, including phone calls, emails, and instant messages with customers and drivers.
- Communicate critical events to management in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Dispatch Manager, Maintenance, Billing, and other levels of management.
- Utilize software tools (Creative Energies Total Dispatch) to build and implement a daily dispatch plan, ensuring safe driver routes aligned with customer expectations and safety guidelines.
- Monitor dispatch technology platforms, including dispatching systems, tank level monitors, GPS programs, and driver messaging systems.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during transit or loading/delivery.
- Demonstrate adherence to safe work and risk management practices, promoting safety.
- Prioritize deliveries for timely completion.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Build strong relationships with customers, drivers, and support staff.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in the petroleum fuel environment and transportation field preferred.
- Strong computer literacy including experience with MS Suite, Creative Energies software a plus.
- Knowledge of the Southern California geography and freeway systems.
- Initiative-taking, critical thinker with the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Highly organized, manage time efficiently, detail and accuracy oriented, with ability to prioritize.
- Thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work well with a wide range of individuals.
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA compliance regulations, federal and state standards is a plus.
- Work is performed in a standard office environment. The individual will be working in a stationary position for extended periods of time, constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery and will occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery, etc.
- Full-time, shift work.
- 8–12-hour shifts.
- Occasional nights, weekends and holidays are required depending on the company’s needs.
- On-site at our Ventura Office.
- High School education or equivalent.
- Logistics or transportation degree preferred.
- Previous dispatch experience required; fuel transportation dispatch preferred.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
