We are looking for a Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team You will assist installation, service, and repair on all commercial HVAC systems. Work classification will range from light commercial RTUs up to 200+ Ton Chillers and AHUs, including all related HVAC components and systems from OA Units, BAS Controls, Boilers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, VRF Systems, WSHPS 1-40 Tons, VFDs, Etc.

Responsibilities

  1. Installation and Setup:

    1. Assist with the installation of HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, controls, and wiring according to specifications and blueprints.
    2. Set up and calibrate HVAC equipment for efficient and reliable operation.

  2. Maintenance and Repair:

    1. Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure HVAC systems operate at peak efficiency.
    2. Diagnose and repair HVAC system components such as compressors, motors, fans, belts, and other parts.
    3. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults and ensure timely resolution.

  3. Inspections and Testing:

    1. Conduct inspections of HVAC systems to identify and rectify issues before they escalate.
    2. Perform regular testing of HVAC systems to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

  4. Customer Service:

    1. Communicate with clients to understand their HVAC needs and provide appropriate solutions.
    2. Educate clients on the proper operation and maintenance of their HVAC systems.

  5. Documentation:

    1. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations performed.
    2. Document equipment conditions and recommendations for future upgrades or replacements.

  6. Safety and Compliance:

    1. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on HVAC systems.
    2. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to HVAC operations and environmental standards.
    3. Federal Background Check upon joining the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 years + of proven experience as an HVAC Technician, in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of all HVAC systems, equipment, and controls.
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and work on roof for extended periods of time.
  • Must clear a Federal Background Check.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an HVAC apprenticeship program or technical school training.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Florida HVAC/R Journeyman License.

Working Conditions:

  • Family like work environment with over 100+ years of experience on the current 10 Tech staff.
  • Work in confined spaces or at heights when installing or repairing HVAC systems.
  • Complete 2-5 jobs per day depending on work demand.
  • 40+ hours a week year-round.
