Our Company:

Terry Staffing is partnering with a construction and maintenance company, specializing in the building of turn-key, power generation facilities, to find an excellent Director of Operations based just North of Sacramento, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

Working with a host of key stakeholders, the Director of Operations is directly responsible for the coordination and successful completion of power generation projects. These projects may range from substation overhauls to new power plant construction. The ideal candidate will be directly responsible for steering multiple projects to completion. This individual will be the liaison between multiple project managers and corporate key stakeholders disseminating vital project status information.

Job Description Summary:

  • Recruits and motivates staff to achieve goals and objectives
  • Manages a significant team or subject matter for the company
  • Establishes goals and objectives for the team consistent with the company’s strategic direction responsibilities
  • High level understanding of applicable laws, best management practices, field construction practices, employee training, and working with local, state and federal agencies.
  • Works with Project Owner, Project Management and government agencies to ensure comprehensive compliance throughout all phases of construction.
  • Directs / prepares complex analysis and reports on key issues for projects.
  • Directs/prepares periodic project audits to ensure compliance with company’s Management Plans.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to project execution.
  • Maintain excellent communications with the customer, Project Managers and government agencies.
  • Manages environmental permitting for EHV transmission line and substation projects.
  • Leads knowledge transfer and development of staff within are of expertise
  • Manages the compensation budget to meet company metrics
  • Leader in expanding current work for new and existing clients.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree engineering, business, project management or a related field.
  • 20+ years of directly related experience in the management of power generation construction projects that will be operated by utility companies.

  • Represents the company to internal and external clients
