Pride Health is currently looking candidates for Medical Lab Scientist II position in Austin, TX. This is a 3-months contract position with possible extension.

 

Schedule: 4 x 10 9PM- 7:30 AM

 

Pay range - $35 - $39/hr. (Pay depends on candidate's experience and skills.)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

 

Qualifications :

  • Seeking an MLS/MT or MLT experienced in Blood Bank - will be supporting Blood Bank Department
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.

 

Education :

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • BSMT or MLT associates.
  • ASCP/ AMT preferred.
