Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Zero tolerance policy for Safety and Quality.
  • Develop production schedule utilizing SAP and develop daily production plan; communicate the plan to Aftermarket & Spindle Nut Kitting operators.
  • Direct day-to-day work tasks for Aftermarket Operators.
  • Assist in the operation of aftermarket machines including foam machine, tape machine, boxing of parts, and material handling
  • Follow standard work
    • Maintain strong floor presence
      • Hourly line reviews
    • Gemba walk with shift supervisor 2 times per shift
    • Process reviews during shift ensuring compliance to safety, quality, and operational guidelines
    • Daily reporting
  • Support OJT opportunities to team members to develop flexibility.
  • Work in conjunction with Area Lead/Supervisor to identify team member strengths and weaknesses and communicate development needs to Training Leads.
  • Monitor line and employee performance; provide feedback to team members to ensure compliance to safety, quality, maintenance, and operational standards.
  • Through example; demonstrate a commitment of excellence.
  • Complete daily forklift checklist prior to beginning material handling job duties.
  • Work well in team environment to ensure safety, quality, and production guidelines are followed
  • Operate Forklift in accordance to ConMet safety requirements
  • Coordinate and transport materials for operations, shipping, and receiving.
  • Maintain inventory control through FIFO
  • Changes propane fuel tanks on forklift when necessary.
  • Fills in as a back-up to Aftermarket Area Lead/Supervisor

Qualifications and Competencies:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree; 1+ year(s) related experience or training.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge:
    • Basic understanding of functionality and setup of aftermarket equipment
    • Basic troubleshooting skills for aftermarket equipment
    • Working knowledge of aftermarket line
    • Working knowledge of components
    • SME on requirements for boxing individual assemblies per customer

Environmental & Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Good hearing is required. Employee must be able to get on and off the forklift 50 or more times per day.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to look up, around and over the shoulder to drive in reverse.
  • Occupational noise exposure during performance of required duties. Adequate hearing protection is provided and required at all times.
  • Occupational exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals are occasionally encountered. Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed, industrial footwear is required at all times.
