As an Optician/Eyewear Consultant at Bowman Optometry, you'll be at the forefront of delivering an unparalleled eyewear experience. Your role will involve assisting clients in selecting eyewear that complements their personal style and meets their visual needs, while ensuring exceptional service from consultation to fitting. You'll work closely with our team to uphold our commitment to excellence and contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of our boutique.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as an optician, eyewear consultant, or similar role in a high-end optical environment is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Custom fits glasses and precisely places prescription in lenses.
  • Acts as a leader when it comes to retail and optical performance.
  • Takes and records measurements, adjusts, and fits eyewear correctly ensuring that eyewear meets standards and patient needs.
  • Explores the needs and priorities of patients by asking them open-ended questions.
  • Assists team members with difficult or complex areas of products needs when it comes to both spectacles and contact lenses.
  • Inventories new frames.
  • Leverages practice tools and adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Submits optical orders
  • Anticipates problems; explores underlying reasons for patient issues; strives to develop long-term solutions to problems and ensures patients are satisfied and expectations are exceeded. Acts quickly for resolution, and partner with managing doctor(s) as needed.
  • Possesses the ability to multi-task; prioritizes and manages time with competing priorities.
  • Commits to delivery date and time; seeks patient feedback and asks for referrals.
  • Presents, celebrates, and educates patient during sales process and at dispense.
  • Checks in Jobs for accuracy and quality control.
  • Keeps detailed observations of frame board
  • Takes pride in practice appearance, shows initiative to keep clean, attractive, and organized.
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Partners with Practice Manager and Managing Doctor on merchandising and planograms items.
  • Maintains company policies and procedures regarding discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
  • Follows attendance and daily time keeping policies.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Practice Manager and/or Managing Doctor as need.
