Crawl Space Repair and Dry Rot Technician

Job DescriptionJob Description

Carpenter/technician should possess basic framing and carpentry skills.

Should be able to establish temporary supports, remove rotten joists, beams, and sill plate members.

Should be able to remove rotten subfloor and to be able to successfully replace rotten members with good lumber and or pressure treated lumber.

Carpenter/technician should have a understanding of structure, stress loads and weight bearing points.

Carpenter/technician should be able to safely and successfully use all Carpenter tools: including hand tools, all power equipment as well as pneumatic nail guns.

Technician should be able to:

-Repeatedly lift 80 pound bags of concrete from the ground to chest height.

-Push pull 80 pound bags of concrete in a crawl space as low as 12 inch clearance under beams.

-In a prone position pull remove insulation debris and vapor barrier into trash bags and remove from crawl space.

-Lift, handle, carry, drag, and spread 50 pound boxes of vapor barrier in standing or prone position.

-During dry rot repairs work for hours on his/her back, pushing up beams, joists, and subflooring into place and hold while fixing in place.

-Drag/push large structural beams into crawl space and then place into position under floor.

-Drag/push large bottle jacks and post into crawl space for dig out or house lifting leveling operations.

-Dig continuously for hours in a prone position for house “dig out” operations and dig trenches and sump pump basin holes for regular water remediation operations.

-Responsible for care and account for all equipment tools and materials used on each job.

-Responsible for care, organize, maintenance, and cleanliness of work trucks.

-Responsible for care and maintenance of personal equipment assigned to the individual.

-Perform other various tasks and duties as assigned for general construction maintenance operations and business functions.
