We are seeking a qualified Ga Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our exciting organization This individual will be responsible for coordinating the curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. This Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and work together with parents to provide frequent and varied parent involvement opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct prekindergarten-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, cognitive development, rest, and playtime
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff
- Organize parent–teacher conferences
- Partner with parents and communicate with them daily on students' growth and progress, and provide frequent and varied parent involvement opportunities
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
- Effectively guide assistant teachers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards
- Maintain child portfolios and participate in ongoing observation-based assessments in order to assess the developmental levels of the children using BFTS (Bright from the Start) Work Sampling Online assessment for the children
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related field is a plus
- At minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or other related field is required
- Must be passionate about working with children
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High energy and the ability to work well with others and foster a team environment
