Overview

We are seeking a Material Handler / Shop Technician to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining accurate inventory by operating material handling equipment and ensuring that all safety procedures are followed. The candidate will also be responsible for providing preventative maintenance and technical repair on company equipment.

Responsibilities

·Receive and inspect incoming materials

·Store materials in designated locations

·Pick and pack materials for shipment

·Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment

·Transport materials to jobsites via company van

·Maintain accurate inventory records

·Perform cycle counts and physical inventories

·Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks

·Follow all safety procedures and guidelines

·Maintain and clean equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times including changing oil and checking fluid levels

·Diagnose and evaluate problems with equipment; make repairs as necessary

Qualifications

·High school diploma or equivalent

·Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center

·Experience using hand and power tools

·Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

·Mechanically inclined

·Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks

·Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·Good communication and interpersonal skills

·Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
