We are currently seeking to recruit an Estimator to join our Structural Steel estimating team.

Your Key Activities will include but not limited to: –

  • Responsible for the preparation and subsequent negotiation of tender submissions for steelwork projects
  • Examine incoming tenders and review scope of work, risks, and contract potential,
  • Quantity take-offs from drawings using 3D modelling software or hand take offs,
  • Investigate cost effective and/or alternative solutions.
  • Input data entry onto estimating software.
  • Sourcing pre-project information and analyzing sub-contractor quotations, agreements & enquiries,
  • Build up tender price from first principles based on the scope of works, plans, specification and program.
  • Cost Planning
  • Producing Bills of Quantities
  • Produce tender report in preparation for tender adjudication.
  • Produce letter of offer including all supporting documentation
  • Prepare and present your offer to clients,
  • Attend pre & post contract interviews, client meetings etc.
  • Collect and distribute feedback.
  • Maintain awareness of latest techniques.
  • Assist in developing skill set within the Department.

Required Experience Your Qualifications and Experience should be:

  • Proven Estimating experience in the Structural Steelwork industry, would be desirable but not essential..
  • A team player who is a confident communicator with all members of staff.
  • You must have excellent interpersonal skills; maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers and have a personable character.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to adhere to strict deadlines on a daily & weekly basis.
  • Microsoft office proficient
  • Ideally with experience in the use of Microsoft Project or other project programming software
