Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work the General Orthopedics unit on a 13-week assignment. Patient population in this unit includes telemetry monitored and unmonitored patients. The care you will provide and the skills you will use include IV antibiotics, blood administration, tube feeding, wound drains, and care of urinary catheters and PICC lines.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: FAST PACED UNIT. Ortho and spine patients requiring nurses who can stay on top of their pain management.

Schedule: Day, 3 x 12-hour

Qualifications:

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 yrs in any inpatient acute care setting OR 1 yr in ortho.
 

Education:

· High School Diploma or GED, required.

· Bachelor's degree preferred.

· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

· If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license.

· In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Experience:

ACLS, Charge Nurse Experience, Level I Trauma Experience
 

Licensure/certification/registration:

· Current RN licensure in appropriate state. 

· BLS Healthcare Provider required.

· Advanced certifications as required per facility.

Additional skills required:

· Appropriate customer service

· Effective and appropriate customer relations

· Verbal and non-verbal communication techniques

· Interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution

· Critical thinking

· Computer literacy (Microsoft applications)

· Ability to successfully complete advanced training as required by department
