Job Title: ICU Nurse

Location: Niles, MI (Open to Local or Travel Candidates)

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Reports To: ICU Nurse Manager

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ICU Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team at [Hospital Name]. The ICU Nurse will provide critical care to patients with severe, life-threatening illnesses or injuries. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs, and perform thorough physical examinations.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous infusions as prescribed.
  • Operate and manage life-support systems such as mechanical ventilators, cardiac monitors, and dialysis machines.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions and take appropriate action.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
  • Physically demanding, requiring long periods of standing, lifting, and moving patients.
