SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Organizes and assists in the management of fixed asset accounting, cash forecasting activities including analysis, post general ledger entries according to GAAP and reconciliation of accounts where necessary.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and maintain summary of all capital investments, including reporting on variances to budget to corporate personnel and local management. 
  • Prepare and maintain the cash flow forecast monthly for submission to Corporate Treasury, upload cash balances and provide all information requested to support cash flow reporting, including but not limited to receiving and booking affiliates’ invoices and requests for down payment, working with project accounting and project management to determine when customers will be invoiced, monitor collection of customer invoices and approve trade affiliate invoices in SAP, and assist with intercompany confirmations where necessary.
  • Assist Controller in determining the amount of currency risk and exposure for the organization by preparing the net risk position monthly for Corporate Treasury for each applicable currency(currently Euros).
  • Maintain fixed asset records and control; determine depreciation terms/rates to apply to capitalized items, including recording additions, disposals, and depreciation expense, preparation of fixed asset rollforward and ownership of investments reported in the financial reporting package.
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the computerized accounting system and printing of computer-generated reports and statements; performs monthly account reconciliation process for assigned accounts. 
  • Assist in preparation of interim, year-end and comparative financial reports; perform and provide analysis of current results to prior periods and/or budget. Prepare required government reports as directed and respond to inquiries as necessary.
  • Stay current with developments, practice trends and promulgations in the accounting profession and recommend new or revised policies and procedures.
  • Assist in year-end audit and preparation of schedules and documents for independent auditors; assist in preparation of schedules for tax return preparation process. 
  • Perform other accounting duties as required or as requested by management. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience within an Accounting and/or Finance department.
  • Familiar with ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Highly organized and time conscious
  • Possess strong analytical aptitude 
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software
  • Customer focused
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and to work in dynamic business environment; Adaptable to change
  • Self-motivated and results oriented; Ability to use judgement and make decisions independently

  • Fluent in English with advanced reading and writing skills
