Nursery Mother Plant Care Supervisor

Job Description

The Mother Plant Care Supervisor will lead and supervise a team of Plant Care Specialists. This position is responsible for cleaning/maintenance responsibilities, monitoring plant health, monitoring irrigation strategies, coordination of transplanting and assistance of the IPM program, and controlling /monitoring the environment.

 

Responsibilities:

· Supervise mother care for all the rooms.

· Make sure sterilization and cleanliness SOPs are adhered to.

· Organize transplanting.

· Ensure proper reporting is completed.

· Conduct sampling for pathogen or nutrient testing as requested.

· Monitor and clean the irrigation systems.

· Monitor the Aroya system closely to maintain plant health.

· Create or maintain all the different cleaning SOPs, checklists, monthly and weekly maintenance tasks, irrigation, plant monitoring.

· Mother resets to maintain our constant-reset cycle.

Additionally:

  • Perform all tasks in the nursery assigned by Operations Manager.
  • Cataloguing and maintaining organization of plants, tags, and pruning biomass.
  • Maintain and follow the nursery department policies and procedures.
  • Wash and sanitize all equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain an organized and clean work environment.
  • Experience with a tier system growing is a plus.
  • Must be able to work individually or within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts with varied hours/day, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Some lifting required up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, push, pull, stoop, grasp, walk, sit, stand, bend and reach.
  • Must be able to perform tasks in warm, humid, and high light environment.
  • Minimum age of 21 years or older and pass a background check.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

· Sitting, standing and walking (95-100%)

· Keyboarding (40-60%)

· Viewing computer monitor, tablet and cell phone screen requiring close vision (95-100%)

· Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.

· Ability to climb, push, pull, stoop, grasp, walk, sit, stand, bend and reach.

· Must be able to perform tasks in warm, humid, and high light environment.

 

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a Nursery environment.
