The general function of a Maintenance Mechanic at Anita’s Mexican Foods is to ensure that all mechanical equipment is safe and in good working condition; that all new mechanical and electrical parts or equipment are installed according to regulations. Also, ensure that production lines are operating efficiently and safely, so that the highest quality of product may be provided to our customers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical preventative maintenance to all production equipment and facilities equipment.
- Fill out Maintenance Breakdown Report, RCA’s, SQF and other reports as needed.
- Fill out Daily Maintenance report on a daily basis to include PM schedule reports.
- Ability to trouble shoot and resolve any mechanical repairs as they occur.
- Promote company policy and philosophy.
- Provide preventative maintenance and lubrication for all machines
- Works closely with Production Operators PMO’s Supervisors/Managers.
- Implements preventative maintenance procedures and ensures they are accomplished in a timely manner.
- Complete daily maintenance reports.
- Follow GMP’s, Quality & Food Safety Programs as noted in the SQF Code and in the company’s Food Safety and Quality Manual.
- Recommends improvements, including capital items to upgrade operations, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Availability to work on weekends as necessary.
- Must be able to rotate shifts as required.
- May be assigned other work as deemed necessary

- 1 year previous production experience
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
- Minimum 2 years Food Manufacturing Machine Repair experience.
- Ability to rotate shifts based on department need.· Forklift experience.
- Experience with food manufacturing equipment/machinery.
- Ability to work weekend shifts when scheduled.
- Own tools required.
- Must have sanitation and Food Safety experience pertaining to food manufacturing.
- Lean training preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Walk on uneven ground and wet or slippery floors
- Twisting, turning, kneeling, stooping and bending most of the day
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to spices (allergens) including but not limited to soy and wheat
- Exposure to high noise levels and high heat environment PPE
- Slip resistant shoes, hair and beard net, safety glasses and ear plugs are required in the work areas, gloves are recommended.
Schedule:
1st shift (5:00am-1:00pm)
3rd shift (9:00pm-5:00am)
Weekends required

The Robles Family acquired Anita’s in 1978, since that time, Anita's has become recognized for the production of snack foods on the West Coast. The plant has various manufacturing lines that produce a wide range of fried tortilla chips, pallet snacks and taco shells. In 2013 Anita's moves into its new state of the art facility, in San Bernardino, CA. In 2014 Anita’s received the state’s U.S. Small Business Persons of 2014 award for growing company revenues more than 100 percent over the past three years and first runner-up for the national U.S. Small Business Persons of 2014 award.
