Senior Compliance Coding Auditor

Our client, a top NYC academic medical center, is currently seeking to hire a Senior Compliance Coding Auditor.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in external government audits, including the OMIG, OIG, AG, OSC etc

• Communicate with external agencies regarding audits.

• Participate in development of voluntary disclosures and repayments to federal and state agencies.

• Coordinate, supervise, and perform medical record audits of documentation, coding and billing for technical and professional services, including CPT, ICD10, HCPCSII, DRG, APC, APG, Modifiers, Teaching Physician Guidelines, NPP documentation, electronical and manual documentation, coding and billing systems.

• Develop formal audit reports of findings and recommendations, which are presented to senior management of applicable department, the Executive Compliance Committee and the Board of Trustees.

• Develop and conduct documentation, coding and billing curriculum and education classes for physicians, allied health professionals, and coding and billing associates annually.

• Partake in one-on-one education sessions based on audit findings

• Facilitate responses to compliance-related inquiries (phone, e-mail, in-person).

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· 3+ years compliance experience working in an academic hospital setting.

· Knowledge of local, state, and federals rules and regulations.

· Coding certification (such as CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT)/ability to obtain within one year of hire.

· Working knowledge of EPIC, SMART, 3M, MD Audit (or comparable compliance auditing software) preferable.
