Responsibilities/Duties:

Accounting Responsibilities

  • Review work performed by team members to ensure accuracy, identify and resolve issues and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies
  • Supervise personnel in general ledger, A/P, A/R, settlement, inventory and fixed assets areas of the accounting department
  • Perform periodic review and analysis of inventoried assets across multiple operating locations
  • Schedule and supervise periodic asset count and reconciliation
  • Review general ledger reconciliations, including monthly bank reconciliations
  • Review monthly accrual and other journal entries as needed for operations

Close and Reporting

  • Coordinate with the KRAT and Corporate Controllers to ensure timely close and reporting on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Prepare monthly operating reports detailing actual and forecasted results
  • Conduct monthly cash flow forecasting and monitor liquidity needs
  • Prepare Sales Tax and Property Renditions as needed
  • Prepare and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all operating locations
  • Prepare annual budget for all locations
  • Coordinate and supervise audits of company’s accounts
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing process across multiple locations and teams
  • Review company financial statements for accuracy and clarity

Other

  • Creation and compliance of policies and procedures for KRAT segment
  • Support process improvement and optimization of John Deere Equip and related plug ins
  • Assist with development of operational and financial reporting, including review for accuracy
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to communicate areas of accounting with operations
  • Show a commitment to safeguarding the assets of the company
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality for a private closely held company

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Accounting departments for King Ranch Ag & Turf

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Prefer proficiency or familiarity with large ERP and reporting tools
  • Results oriented with the ability to prioritize your workload while performing multiple tasks
  • Detailed oriented in execution of work
  • Adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrate a high level of mental agility
  • Strong business acumen and acute problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of utilizing Microsoft Word programs
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal skills), the ability to interact with all levels of management throughout the organization and the initiative to get the job done
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.

 Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Big 4 accounting experience a bonus
  • Should have 5-10 years’ experience in all aspects of accounting
  • Proven supervisory experience

· Must be able to accept corrective criticism from supervisor

· Must be willing to take on a variety of assignments as assigned by management on an as-needed basis within the department and within other areas of King Ranch if necessary.
