Wylander, a recruiting company for the disaster restoration industry, is recruiting a bookkeeper for a full-service restoration company in Brevard County.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $60,000 plus DOE
  • Health Benefits (Medical, Dental, and Vision)
  • Paid Time Off & Holidays

The Bookkeeper is responsible for performing and managing the company's day-to-day Accounting and Administration functions. The Bookkeeper will also be responsible for processing payroll, handling general human resource duties, and investigating ways to improve profitability. This person should be a self-starter, with excellent computer skills for handling accounting and finance data.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Mail invoices and statements to customers, making collection calls as needed
  • Prepare and post WIP monthly
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Ensure an accurate chart of accounts
  • Generate reports using company software
  • Process payroll, ensure accuracy of timesheets
  • Manage HR paperwork for the organization
  • Assist in interviewing and onboarding of new employees
  • Complete deposits and all account reconciliation
  • Perform exit interviews
  • Conduct performance evaluation of all direct reports
  • Attend all appropriate company meetings
  • Additional duties required as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience, restoration and/or construction experience preferred
  • An associate’s degree or higher is a plus
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of the key drivers of profitability, including experience providing analysis with actionable steps for operations
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proven strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work independently
