The mission of the Domestic Violence Resource Center (DVRC) is to support and empower survivors and their children who are affected by domestic violence.
Summary:
The Full-Charge Bookkeeper is a hands-on position that is responsible for processing all accounting tasks for the agency. This role is responsible for basic bookkeeping, financial reporting, cash management, budget development, and fund accounting.
The Full-Charge Bookkeeper collaborates with the Senior Leadership Team and plays a critical role in partnering with the Executive Director and Board Treasurer on financial decision-making. This role is essential as DVRC continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity to serve the cultural communities of Washington County.
Responsibilities
- Financial management.
- Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements.
- Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting.
- Attend senior leadership team meetings.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Executive Director; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and change and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
- Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
- Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the Board Treasurer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Support the Domestic Violence Resource Center’s mission.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of GAAP is required.
- Prior experience with Fund Accounting preferred.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must complete the 40-hour Victims’ Advocacy Training, as required by the State of Oregon, within 30 days of employment, or as soon as reasonable.
- Adhere to DVRC policies and procedures.
- May be asked to represent DVRC at public events, meetings, services, clubs, etc.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and work experience in a related field; accounting/finance.
- Experience with final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.
- Ability to translate financial concepts to, and to effectively collaborate with, program and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.
- Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting software, (QuickBooks, etc.).
- A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to use technology necessary for day-to-day functions in a business environment including databases, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and Internet technology as work may be required to be completed remotely as needed.

Working Conditions:
- Typical office work environment with natural and artificial lighting. May be exposed to cleaning solvents, bloodborne pathogens, and service animals. May require driving on an occasional basis. Frequent repetitive motion with keyboard and use of computer mouse.
