Location: Worthington, IN 47465

Duration: 9 months assignment

Shifts/Schedules: See Below

 

Weekly Schedule (how many hours/days): 42 - 60 hours / week (depending on number of employees hired)

Shift Times: 12 hour shifts, must be able to work either days or nights. (6:00 - 6:30). See Schedules below.

15 mins breaks for every 4 hours worked.

 

Schedules:

All will start first week of onboarding as 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM and then will be assigned to first or second shift depending on business need. (Every training session will be 5 days)

July 14-August 25th: Shifts are 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. 5 days per week.

August 25th: We will start 12 hour day shifts 7 days a week. Until Sept 28th. (6:00 - 6:30).

Sept 29th: We will have Packaging 24/7 schedule and Harvest a 12/7 schedule. Exact times TBD.

 

Hourly pay range: $19.50/hr. on W2 (+$2 shift differential for Shift 2 & 3. Pay is the same for both shifts 2 & 3)

Requested Pay Rates per shift for New Workers (Returners = +$0.50 (=$20 base)

Shift 1: $19.50

Shift 2: $21.50 - ($2 differential)

Shift 3: $21.50 - ($2 differential)

 

Interview Details:

Going forward, the manager will be conducting mandatory "MEET & GREET" INTERVIEWS BEFORE EXTENDING OFFERS. These will take place every other Tuesday (prior to the orientation date).

 

Job Description:

LOCAL - HARVEST REQ

Reports To: Production Specialist

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

The General Operator role has a seasonality effect. The type of work assigned will vary based on the current season. In spring and summer, you will be assigned to teams supporting a variety of responsibilities. You could spend time inspecting and maintaining our seed crops or you could support seed inventory management at the plant. Fall is a busy season with harvesting and seed packaging in full swing. In the winter, you’ll be cleaning & packaging seed, supporting maintenance work, warehousing and shipping seed to ensure our customers have the product they need for the coming planting season.

 

September-October:

Receive and process trucks hauling crop from the field for weighing and unloading.

Complete a wide range of harvest activities: ex.: husk and sort operations

Operate dryer to dry crop within the prescribed safety, quality, and financial requirements

Shelling and storage of crop from bins in the dryer facility

Supply the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed

Apply appropriate treatment to seed

 

November-March:

Label, tag, bag and palletize seed

Enter inventory information into computer

Stage seed for shipment in warehouse

 

April-August:

Retag in-house seed.

Re-bag backhaul (returned) seed

Inspect pro boxes to ensure they are free of debris and clean

Wash pro boxes as necessary

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Knowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations

Ability to safely perform duties in timely fashion while maintaining seed quality

Ability to work independently or with a team

Ability to adjust to changing conditions and anticipate needs

Ability to make independent decisions

 

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

Pass a background check and other pre-employment screenings

Have reliable transportation to the site and be able to arrive at the work site as instructed

Maintain enthusiasm, good attitude, honesty and a willingness to treat all with respect

Ability to work long hours and rotational shifts, including over-time as needed;

Ability to communicate verbally and written

Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 pounds, work in and outdoors, walk on uneven surfaces

 

Monitors and operates equipment and facilities, including field equipment, insuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. Maintains safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary. Rotates through various roles within the area, including, in some cases, a control room rotation.
