WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Senior Accountant will plan, study, and collect data to determine the costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. As a Senior Accountant, you will prepare estimates of new and proposed products and project costs while providing management with reports that compare factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

Cost Accounting
  • Develop, analyze, and support standard cost for materials and labor and track changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on cost.
  • Develop fully loaded labor rates.
  • Maintain and ensure integrity of the Cost Accounting System.

Collaboration
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather accurate data, understand production processes and ensure compliance with inventory management procedures.
  • Lead and engage in process improvement initiatives, identify best practices and implement processes to enhance efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Support Operations management staff with monitoring, analyzing, and explaining cost variances.
  • Coordinate periodic physical counts and cycle counts in a warehouse material and corresponding reconciliation.
Reporting
  • Prepare periodic reports comparing standard/estimate costs to actual production costs.
  • Support the month-end close of the general ledger and complete account reconciliations as needed.
  • Assist with the year-end audit as required.
WHAT YOU NEED
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • Minimum of three years of Cost Accounting in an operations or manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a strong cost systems background and excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including excellent Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Accounting and Production Information Control Systems (MAPICS) is a plus.
  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on the development and analysis of cost standards.
  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
