Position Summary/Objective:

The purpose of this position is to support the department’s ability to achieve its goals and objectives. This includes the safe and efficient operation of a CNC machine allowing for the achievement of customer expectations for quality and on-time delivery. Other duties may be assigned as needed. This position will report to the Quality Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform first article (FAIR) tasks including documentation and reports.
• Perform 1st piece, in-process and last piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges and CMM equipment according to the company standards and AS 9100 procedures.
• Submit PPAP documents.
• Perform incoming inspection tasks according to AS 9100 procedures.
• Perform final inspection and shipping tasks according to AS 9100 procedures.
• Perform process audits and follow-up with corrective actions.
• Ensure the quality of all material meets customer specifications through applicable quality policies, procedures and instructions.
• Cross train across multiple departments
• Perform data collection and communication tasks in ERP and other applications.
• Perform miscellaneous quality-related clerical duties.
• Comply with all Advanced Machining & Tooling policy.

• This job operates in the production area.

Physical Demands

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• This is largely a sedentary role when deburring. This roll will routinely perform tedious operations requiring hand and finger dexterity.
• When shipping/receiving this position will stand at least 95% of the scheduled shift.
• This position will carry parts and material up to 50 pounds.
• This position will use another technique to bring in anything that is over 50 pounds.
• This position requires lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending and grasping in order to package/unpackage parts, move and set tools, equipment and material.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00am -2:30pm.
• Additional work may be necessary either on a daily basis or on weekends.

Required Education and Experience

• 3 - 8 years of successful prior Essential Duty experience.
• Ability to effectively use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Demonstrated blueprint reading skills to GD&T standards.
• Basic CAD skills
• Ability to effectively use MS Office Products.
• Ability to read/write in English and perform basic math functions including statistical skills like SPC and capability.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Eligibility to work with sensitive controlled data and materials according to ITARs policy and practice.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools. (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Education and Experience

• Successful track record of developing and documenting PPAPs and FAIRs.
• Specific applied knowledge of aerospace quality procedures and AS9100.
