Cherry Picker Forklift Operator Job Overview:

The certified Cherry Picker forklift driver is responsible for operating forklifts and other machinery to move, stack, and transport materials within a warehouse or industrial setting. This role requires a valid forklift certification, strong attention to safety, and the ability to handle heavy and bulky items efficiently.

Cherry Picker Forklift Operator Key Responsibilities:

  • Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport goods within the warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks.
  • Material Handling: Move materials to and from designated locations, ensuring proper placement and storage to optimize space and accessibility.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control by accurately moving and tracking goods. Ensure that all items are correctly labeled and stored according to company procedures.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting routine safety checks on equipment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on forklifts and other equipment, including checking fluid levels, inspecting for wear and tear, and reporting any issues to maintenance personnel.
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials for damage or defects during handling and report any concerns to supervisors.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials moved, including quantities, locations, and any discrepancies or issues encountered.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations and address any logistical challenges that may arise.

Cherry Picker Forklift Operator Qualifications:

  • Certification: Valid forklift certification from a recognized authority (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, or equivalent). Certification should be up-to-date.
  • Experience: Prior experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is preferred. Experience in warehouse or distribution environments is a plus.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods and working in various warehouse conditions.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in handling and moving materials.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to forklift operation and warehouse safety.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and supervisors effectively.

Cherry Picker Forklift Operator Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: The role involves operating machinery, lifting heavy items, and working in a warehouse environment that may be noisy and require adherence to safety protocols.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
