Responsibilities:

Handle patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Verify and update patient demographic information, insurance details, and medical history.
Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize the patient flow.
Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, providing clear explanations of payment responsibilities.
Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, following proper coding and documentation guidelines.
Resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and rejected claims in a timely manner.
Collaborate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to address billing and payment inquiries.
Maintain patient records and billing information in a secure and organized manner.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Assist with administrative duties as needed to support the smooth operation of the medical center.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical billing or coding certifications are a plus.
Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role, preferably in a high-end medical facility.
Solid understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance plans, and coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical billing software.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient and billing information.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
