Recruitment Specialist

Schedule- Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Rate: $45,000/Annual Salary
General Description of Position:
The person in this position will be responsible for interviewing, onboarding, and training employees that will be working within our residential homes, our IHS programs, and our supported housing. This position will function according to the policies that have been established by Turning Leaf Agency.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional environment during work hours.
- Adheres to TLA and DDS Policies and Procedures.
- Create and publish job opportunities on recruitment sites that TLA utilizes.
- Consulting with supervisors and management about hiring needs for the locations.
- Interviewing applicants and vetting them for the position.
- Doing background checks and calling references.
- Explaining the benefits, company policies and parameters of the job to applicants.
- Hiring the most qualified applicant and completing the onboarding process with all new hires.
- Conducting new hire orientation and all new hire training with employees.
- Processing hiring paperwork and maintaining employee records.
- Hosting and participating in job fairs.
- Networking and building relationships with potential candidates.
- Participate in weekly meetings with their supervisors.
Other Related Responsibilities:
1. Attend all applicable agency meetings.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Demonstrate appropriate time management skills.
4. Maintain professional demeanor and act as a role model for employees.
5. Ability to respond appropriately to emergency medical situations
6. Keep informed and implement current trends and methods of working with individuals with disabilities.
7. Get along with others - work as a team player with a professional demeanor.
8. To be able to work in a hostile environment.
Minimum Education Required: A Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services or related field and/or 5 plus years in Human Services working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Must have valid State of Connecticut Driver’s License and be insurable with the agency carrier.
- Must have DDS knowledge.
- Decision-making abilities
- Communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
Additional Requirements
- Must complete the Agency’s Employee Training.
- Must have experience working in the DDS field.
