Job Title: Shop Support
Location: Airway Heights, WA
Duration: 6 months contract (May extend depending on the client needs)
Work schedule:
1st shift 5:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday (4/10 schedule)
2nd shift 3:15pm - 1:45am Monday - Thursday (4/10 schedule)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform tasks such as scribing, trimming, sanding, polishing, drilling, punching, sizing, and deburring using hand and power equipment (e.g., die grinders, bandsaws, chop saws, Libert shears, grinders, polishers, belt sanders) according to instructions.

  • Clean metal parts using various methods, including hand-wiping, solvent washing, and alkaline/caustic chemical cleaning, potentially requiring certification for certain cleaning processes.

  • Inspect parts for prescribed dimensions using jigs, fixtures, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection devices; follow written instructions and sketches, and maintain safety and quality standards throughout all work processes.

  • Purchase materials, parts, supplies, and equipment in compliance with established purchasing policies and procedures, optimizing price, delivery, and terms, while actively seeking and coordinating improvement opportunities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience in Assembly, Welding, and Machine Operating preferred. 
  • Able to read and understand precautions, safety criteria and mix ratios.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing planning operations and sketches.
  • Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
  • Must be able to use mathematics relevant to shop support functions.
  • Requires ability to learn the use of machine tools and precision instruments.
  • Also requires good manual dexterity.
