Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The LPN will provide comprehensive nursing care to inmates, focusing on promoting health, preventing illness, and providing timely and effective care for medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a secure and structured environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates' health status, including vital signs, medical history, and presenting conditions.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers and monitor inmates for side effects or adverse reactions.
  • Perform nursing procedures and treatments, such as wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and administering injections.
  • Educate inmates about their health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and preventive health practices.
  • Monitor and document inmates' health status, including changes in symptoms, responses to treatment, and overall progress.
  • Work closely with physicians, registered nurses, mental health professionals, and other healthcare staff to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a correctional facility, hospital, or similar setting.
